As a City of Mississauga affiliate Community Sports Group, Mayor Bonnie Crombie announced yesterday that she “is pushing for her city to be placed in the red zone of the province's colour-coded framework for COVID-19 restrictions once the stay-at-home order is lifted.”
Premier Doug Ford will announce on March 9, 2021 the status of moving from the “stay-at-home” order (‘grey zone’)
The ‘red zone’ allows us to hold limited capacity cricket sessions at our indoor centre (as we did in November 2020 with a maximum capacity of 10 including coaches, observing COVID Guidelines and protocol to ensure everyone’s health and safety.
Again, we cannot say for sure whether we move into the red-zone on March 9, 2021, but we are very hopeful that things will be moving forward very soon.
What happens when and if we move into the red-zone in March?
If we move into the red-zone in March we will start our Spring Program
We are working on a provisional schedule and will be releasing on our website on March 2, 2021
We will be following all COVID safety guidelines (Please see https://www.ontariocricket.com/covid-resources)
This schedule will be the same for April 2021 as well
Will there be a Summer Program?
We are extremely hopeful that with the government’s direction of re-opening in different regions recently, that we will be having a start to our Summer Program in May (as usual)
Our summer program last year adhered to all safety guidelines and procedures and went off with great reviews from all who participated
